28.8.1 Besonderheiten: Bejahende Sätze und Umgangssprache
Im vorigen Abschnitt haben wir festgestellt, dass much
und many vorwiegend
in verneinenden Sätzen und in Fragesätzen zu finden
sind. Ist in einem affirmativen Satz eine große,
wenn auch unbestimmte Menge zu beschreiben, stehen mehrere
Ausdrücke zur Verfügung. Einige dieser Ausdrücke,
wenn auch hoch frequent, sind eher umgangssprachlich.

Das Verb ist hierbei anzupassen. Ist von mehreren die
Rede, so muss das Verb auch in der Mehrzahl verwendet
werden. Wird nur auf ein einzelnes Element Bezug genommen,
so steht auch das Verb in der Einzahl (3. Person 's').
